CHEVROLET WEEKLY RACING SERIES ROUND UP FOR JUNE 23
CARTERSVILLE, GA – Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS picked up a
pair of victories over the weekend during Week 13 of the NeSmith
Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series to move up to the second spot in the

Lee was the winner on Friday night at
Keeton took the weekend off of West Region competition to race
with the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Tour in
Tuscumbia, AL and Columbus, MS. Keeton
picked up his fourth and final 10-point bonus for competing with the
National Tour. Lee has
only picked up 10 of the 40 bonus allowed.
Keeton and Lee both have 12 starts apiece.
Herman Reynolds of Laurel, MS is third in the NeSmith Chevrolet
Weekly Racing Series West Region points chase with 474 points in 13
starts. Josh Huss of
Flomaton, AL is fourth with 473 points in 12 starts, and Chris Griffin
of Flomaton, AL is fifth with 423 points in 11 starts.
The “perfect season” for Mark Clifton of
Tracy Sutton of Brewton, AL is seventh with 350 points in nine
starts, and Tootie Arnold of Meadville, MS is eighth with 348 points
in nine starts. Heath
Gibson of Brewton, AL is ninth with 342 points in nine starts, and
Micha McCall of Flomaton, AL rounds out the top ten in the NeSmith
Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region standings with 341 points
in ten starts.
In other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region
action over the weekend, Jim Bryant of
Martin was the winner on Saturday night at
Stephens grabbed his seventh NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing
Series East Region win of the season on Friday night at Penton Raceway
in
With a driver’s best 16 point finishes counting towards his
Regional point total, Stephens on Saturday night was able to throw out
a 34-point race on March 28, and replace it with the 46-point
fourth-place effort on Saturday night to net 12 points.
Martin, on the other hand, can still earn full points for four
more races. If he wins
each race with a field of 15 cars or more, it is possible for Martin
to earn up to 200 points. Neither
Stephens nor Martin has yet to cash in on earning any bonus points
that will be added on to their 16 best point finish total for entering
a National Touring event.
Blake Stewart of Centre, AL ran with the National Tour in
Tuscumbia, AL on Friday night to pick up 10 bonus points, and then
finished fifth on Saturday night in NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing
Series East Region action at Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, AL.
That moved Stewart up to the third spot in the East Region
standings with 561 points in 13 starts.
Marc Gooden of Lafayette, AL is eighth in
the East Region points chase with 531 points in 15 starts, and Larry
Harrod of Plains, GA is ninth with 528 points in 13 starts.
Anthony Meadows of Lanett, AL rounds out the top ten of the
NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region standings with 485
points in 12 starts. In other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing
Series East Region action over the weekend, Steve Barnett of NeSMITH
