NeSMITH CHEVROLET DLMS BRINGS NATIONAL EVENT BACK TO FORT PAYNE MOTOR SPEEDWAY ON JULY 4TH HOLIDAY WEEKEND

               CARTERSVILLE, GA – Fort Payne Motor Speedway in Fort Payne, AL will host a National Dirt Late Model event for the first time is over two years when the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Tour arrives at the newly reconfigured 3/8-mile clay oval on Thursday night, July 3 and Friday night, July 4 for the $5,000-to-win Red Top Auto Auctions 75.

               The two-day event will feature Qualifying and Heat Races on Thursday night, July 3, and the B-Main Races and the 75-lap main event on Friday night, July.  Over 50 competitors from 10 states are expected for Round 10 of the 2008 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model season.

               The top NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS cars and stars from the National Tour will take on the Fort Payne Motor Speedway NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series favorites during the two-day event.

               Chip Brindle of Chatsworth, GA, Larry Boutwell of Baker, FL, Chris Tays of Corinth, MS, Scott Knowles of Lanett, AL, and Jay Blair of Angie, LA will lead the National Touring contingent, while NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series drivers Blake Stewart of Centre, AL, Greg Chumley of Attalla, AL, Kasey Hall of Geraldine, AL, and Samuel Brown of Fyffe, AL will defend their home turf.

               Knowles leads the battle for the Sunoco Race Fuels Rookie of the Year title, followed by Hunter Peacock of Macon, GA, Jason Hiett of Lincoln, AL, Eric Cooley of Fulton, MS, Chad Wallace of LaGrange, GA, and Marcus Minga of Shannon, MS.

               Several drivers from the NeSmith Chevrolet National Tour are expected at Fort Payne Motor Speedway this Friday night to prepare for next week’s action, and many of the top NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing East Region contenders are expected this Friday night, as the track will award Double Points in the NeSmith Chevrolet WRS East Region.
